Therese Vafaeezadeh
MSN, ARNP
Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Seattle
Therese is the mother of a 25 year old young
woman with disabilities. Therese has been a
nurse for 27 years and a nurse practitioner for
5 years. She spent 26 years at Children's
Hospital where she worked with children and
teens with disabilities in the
Neurodevelopmental Clinic. She currently works
part time as a family nurse practitioner at
Meadow Creek Family Medicine in Issaquah.
Therese also is the Executive Director of Tavon
Center.

Bill Dempsey, Sr.
Retired
Bill is a retired Boeing Aerospace Engineer. After retirement, Bill has been active in small property development projects in the greater Seattle area. He and his wife, Joan, have a personal interest in seeing that The Tavon Center succeeds in that they have a young adult granddaughter with developmental disabilities.

Joan Blanchard, RN
Director, Heart Center
Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Seattle
Joanie is an RN and director of the Heart Center at Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center. She is married with three children and three dogs. As the aunt of a young adult with disabilities, she is inspired by the strengths and abilities of these unique individuals and feels priviledged to assist with their successes.
Linda Covert
Child Care Coordinator
Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Seattle
Linda has been a pediatric nurse for 38 years, with most of her career focused on children with special health care needs. She spends her free time being a grandmother.
Bill Dempsey, Jr.
President
Lakeside Industries
Bill is vice president at an Issaquah-based paving company. He is the uncle of a young adult with disabilities and brings expertise in the construction field to the Tavon project. Bill is married with two sons.
Cathy Dempsey
Construction Manager
Hines NW
Cathy is a construction manager for a development company in Seattle. She has three daughters and is involved in Tavon because she wants to see young adults with disabilities have something they can look forward to each day. She also wants to see parents of children with disabilities get some relief from their daily challenges by having a place they know is safe and educational for their children.
Vicky Isett Vicky has a passion for children with disabilities that began when her own daughter, Annie, was born with Rett Syndrome. She is deeply committed to finding respectful ways of supporting people with disabilities to make meaningful contributions to their communities. Her focus has been on empowering communities to embrace all children, meeting their special needs and receiving their special gifts. Vicki has spent the last two decades working in social services and education to this end. Her post-graduate studies in business and organizational psychology further enhance her ability to approach situations systematically and thoughtfully.Bill Napier
Bill is a Seattle software developer with a desire to help children affected by developmental disabilities.
Mary Pat Osterhaus
Mary Pat is a full-time mother of two and a community volunteer with a focused interest in young adults with disabilities.
Beth Thorpe
Beth has two daughters, an 18-year-old with developmental disabilities and a 15-year-old. She worked in public accounting for five years and has spent the last fifteen years doing contract accounting for not-for-profits and start-up companies. Beth enjoys gardening and has a raised bed garden at her home on Bainbridge Island that is tended by the residents of a neighboring group home. She has seen first-hand how important gardening can be for young adults with disabilities. |
